Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan is a classic Italian dish, that is loved by everyone! It is a real comfort food that not only tastes good, but makes your soul happy. All you need for the famous and delicious dish are 4 boneless chicken breast halves, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup of milk, 1 cup of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 8 slices of mozzarella cheese, 1 jar of pasta sauce, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese and 8 ounces of spaghetti. Start by greasing a 9X13 inch baking dish and preheat the oven to 350 F. Now put the chicken breast between plastic sheets and roll them flat. Whisk the egg and the milk together in a small bowl and place the breadcrumbs in a separate bowl. Take the chicken breasts and put them in the milk and egg mixture and then in the breadcrumbs and coat them evenly. Take a large skillet and heat it to medium heat and brown the chicken in the hot oil about 3 to 4 minutes on each side. The next step is to pour about 1/3 of pasta sauce at the bottom of the prepared baking dish and place the fried chicken over it. Now cover the chicken with the mozzarella and use the remaining pasta sauce to put it over the chicken and the cheese. Bake it for about 25 to 30 minutes and start cooking the spaghetti meanwhile. After everything is cooked you can either serve the spaghetti and the Parmesan chicken separately or mix them together. A good side dish for the delicious comfort food are a green salad or garlic bread.

French Onion Soup

Soup is always a good idea for a cold winter night. For your next cozy night at home, you should definitely try to make an easy french onion soup. All you need for this easy recipe are 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 4 medium onion slices, 2 cans of beef broth, 2 cans of water, 4 slices of French bread and 1/2 cup of Gruyère cheese. First melt the butter in a medium heat pan. Put the onions in and sauté them for about 35 minutes until they are golden brown. Then combine the sautéd onions with the beef broth and bring the mixture to boil. Reduce the heat and cover the pan and let it simmer for about half an hour. Meanwhile, take a broiler and bake bread gold brown. Take the bread, place the cheese over it and put it back in the oven for another few minutes until the cheese is melted. Now take the soup place it in a bowl and put the cheese covered bread on top. If you want, you can sprinkle some more cheese over the soup. Voilà your classic french onion soup is ready to be enjoyed!

Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

One thing that is not allowed to miss during a cozy winter night is hot chocolate. If you have enough of the classic hot chocolate, try it with a cinnamon hot chocolate. All you need for this delicious drink are 2 tbsp. of unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tsp. of sugar, 1 tbsp. of finely chopped milk chocolate, a pinch of salt, a pinch of ground cinnamon, a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg and 1 cup of whole milk. Take a mug and add the cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Put the milk in a small port and heat it over medium heat. Once the milk is warm pour it in the mixture of the other ingredients and stir it well. This recipe is super easy and just takes a few minutes to prepare. Now sit back and enjoy your cinnamon hot chocolate.
